House cleaning in progress…
July 31st, 2009It was long over due.
Time to clean up my site and stop reposting tweets (lame, I know).

This is a test
June 21st, 2009Air Guitar Nation
January 23rd, 2008
Imagine a slightly overweight Asian guy wearing tights, no shirt, a robe, and a Hello Kitty breast plate, walking on to a concert stage with crazed fans and proceeding to rock some sick neo-classical metal piece on “air guitar”.
I’ve been waiting a long time to get this one on my Netflix queue and it was worth that wait. The scary thing is, I actually know one of the contestants, Bjorne Turok – we worked together a few years back (not as air guitarists).
That said, Air Guitar is loud, legit, and here to stay! Rock power!!
Watch this movie, crank up the volume to 11, and proceed to rock out on your Air Guitar. You know you want to.

Skinner’s Loft
January 5th, 2008Life so far in the Dirty Jersey is pretty nice, and it’s even better after finding some good places to eat!
Skinner’s Loft is just a hop and skip away from the Grove St. PATH station and it serves up some solid American-style bistro fare. They are definitely more than just a beer and burger joint. Some favorites on the menu include penne with shrimp, BBQ ribs, Filet Mignon with a nice reduction, and a wasabi-crusted salmon. Yum!!
And let’s not forget the desserts – a fantastic Crème brûlée (when it’s available on the daily specials) and a neat “ice cream for 2″ with 6 different ice creams on 12 mini cones served on this cool little cone holder tray. When someone orders it, you see newcomers all looking over and asking “What is that?!”
Also, they have a small, but reasonable wine list, and some damn fine beers on tap (Fuller’s ESB is my go-to drink there).
Lastly, the staff there is extremely friendly (I believe the owner is Irish and they are really down to Earth folk) and the decor of the place is really nice and open – large artist loft with local art on the walls.

Metallica
August 9th, 2007Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of my older music collection and rediscovering some great music.
Right now my playlist is set to Metallica’s And Justice For All album. Wow. They used to be so good. What the hell happened to them?
Back from a summer break…
August 9th, 2007It’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been busy with a move, a wedding, some travel abroad, and a few rounds of golf here and there. Plus, it’s finally hot in NYC. At least, I’m back to shooting under 90.
Golf Season Starts!
April 10th, 2007Woo hoo!!
Time to dust off the golf clubs and start stretching your back. Golf season is finally here in NYC (albeit a few weeks late)! I’m sure that watching the Masters last weekend, got the hordes of hibernating golfers off their couches and on to the driving range. This Saturday is supposed to Sunny and a nippy 55 degrees F. Golf is starting indeed!
Broad Street 10 Mile Run
April 1st, 2007No, this is not an April Fools’ joke.
Foolishly, I signed my wife and I up for the Broad Street 10M Run in Philadelphia. The race is in the first week of May, so we have a solid month to train. I know that 10 miles is not a marathon. It’s not even a half-marathon! But, I haven’t run 10 miles since probably high school. OMG, what did I just sign myself up for?!?
Pam Real Thai Food
March 3rd, 2007Pam Real Thai is one of many Hell’s Kitchen Thai restaurants and it’s given generally good ratings on City Search and Menu Pages. The place is small and maybe holds about 25-30 people.
Bottom line: It’s cheap and the food is good (not great), but hey, where can you order a Green Papaya Salad, Chicken Pad See Ew, Shrimp-Pineapple Fried Rice, Rama Chicken, and 2 beers for $40? Ok?
But, so far the best Thai that I’ve had in NYC is still Sea Thai Bistro.
